The American National Rugby League is finalizing details for a tour of France in 2012.

As we have been reporting recently, the AMNRL is ramping up its operations with a view to giving the USA Tomahawks the best possible opportunity for success at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.

The first stage of the AMNRL’s plan was to appoint experienced personnel to key roles in the front office and in line with that, Adam Nable has been given the position of the league’s international representative.

Nable, who has played professionally in Australia, England and France, and who also had a stint with the New York Knights, has been negotiating with the French on an end of season tour by the Tomahawks in 2012.

“A friend of mine in France was organizing a tournament and contacted me to see if I could get the USA team involved somehow,” Nable told WeAreRugby.

“I know the USA team will need all the preparation in the lead up to the World Cup and mentioned that I thought it would be beneficial if they could also get a one-off test match against the national side.

“There is a lot of red tape over there and the federation finally agreed to the game.”

Dates and venues for the tour are still being finalized, but it’s expected that the USA’s national team will play at least one warm-up game and then the Test in October.

It will be the first ever rugby league international between the two countries.
