Steep Learning Curve
Two young Canadian rugby league players have wrapped up a learning stint with English Super League club Hull FC.
Graham Dobbs (Toronto City Saints) and Chris Chalmers (Surrey Beavers) were on a six-week exchange program struck between the Canada Rugby League and Hull.
Hull is also the home club of USA Tomahawk Ryan McGoldrick.
During their time in England, Dobbs, 18, and Chalmers, 21, trained with Hull’s senior squad and played several games for the SLE club’s lower division side East Hull.
The Canadians, who concur that they had a steep learning curve, went out on a winning note by helping East Hull win its final game of the regular season in the UK.
Both will be back in Canada in time for the first Colonial Cup match between the Canadian Wolverines and USA Tomahawks on September 8 in Toronto.
