North v South: Preview
The American National Rugby League’s newest All Star game is set to go ahead Saturday in the Philadelphia area.
The North v South match will pit the best players from the northern region of the Atlantic Conference against the best from the southern region.
Included on the rosters for both teams are seven players who have represented the USA’s national team the Tomahawks.
National team coaching staff will be at the game to scout for potential new talent to add to the AMNRL’s Elite Player Squad looking ahead to next year’s Rugby League World Cup.
There are plans to build on this matchup to potentially make it an annual two game-series with one match played in the north and the other in the south.
Following a lengthy dry spell, there has been some recent rain in the area and with the mercury regularly hitting the 90 degree mark, the field at the home of the Bucks County Sharks in Levittown, PA, is in better condition than expected for the contest.
The game is scheduled for a 1p EST kickoff.
