Hull FC have hinted they will look to retain Ryan McGoldrick's services for next season's Super League campaign.

The USA Tomahawk utility back recently joined the Black and Whites on a short-term deal after seven seasons with Castleford.

McGoldrick,  who has impressed at the KC Stadium, is currently mulling over his options, a decision that includes retiring or playing rugby union.

Hull's director of rugby Shaun McRae  is happy with the 31-year-old's impact in West Yorkshire, stating they plan to hold talks with McGoldrick in the coming weeks.

"Someone like Ryan is still very much in our sights, and a discussion will happen before the end of the season, because we have to be fair to him and give him an opportunity to see what he wants to do," McRae told the Hull Daily Mail.

"But he likes Hull and he is doing his talking on the field at the minute. We know where we stand with him and we'll keep monitoring it, and it's fair to say there will be a conversation in the next couple of weeks.

"We've got an open mind and so has he and that was the whole idea of him coming to us.

"There were no promises made, he just wanted an opportunity. We've not made any decisions yet and I don't think Ryan has."
